Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 22, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Momentum Apps LLC ("Caf Coach," formerly known as MacroPeak, "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use cafcoach.org and our related services (the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to the practices described here.
Information we collect
We collect the following information:
- Account information. When you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive your name, your email address, and an account identifier from that provider. If you use Apple's Hide My Email, we receive the relay address Apple creates instead of your real one. We never receive your Google or Apple password.
- Information you provide. Your macro goals, dietary preferences and restrictions, meal selections, logged foods, profile details you choose to add (such as a photo, bio, and college), and any other details you enter to use the Service.
- Photos. When you scan a menu or a dish, or take a photo of your plate or of a nutrition label to log a food, the photo is sent to our servers and to our AI provider so the food can be read and its nutrition estimated. We do not store these photos once they have been processed. If you add a profile photo or a group photo, we store it so it can be shown to you and to the people who can see your profile or group.
- Food descriptions and barcodes. When you describe a food in words to log it, that text is sent to our AI provider to estimate its nutrition. When you scan a barcode, the barcode number, and nothing about you, is sent to Open Food Facts, a public food database, to look the product up.
- Location (iPhone app, optional). If you allow it, the app uses your location to remember which dining hall you eat at and to notice when you arrive there. The saved spots and your coordinates stay on your phone and are not sent to us. When you arrive, the app tells our servers only that you have arrived, so we can show your meal on your lock screen. You can turn location off at any time in iOS Settings.
- Notifications (optional). If you allow notifications, we store a token that identifies your device so we can send them: your morning plan, friend requests, and group invites. You can switch each kind off in the app, or all of them in your device settings.
- Usage and device data. Basic technical information such as your device type, browser, IP address, and how you interact with the Service, collected through cookies and similar technologies.
How we use your information
- To provide, maintain, and improve the Service, including generating and personalizing meal plans.
- To keep you signed in and remember your preferences.
- To communicate with you about the Service, send notifications you have allowed, and respond to support requests.
- To monitor usage, prevent abuse, and keep the Service secure.
Cookies and similar technologies
We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember your settings, and understand how the Service is used. You can control cookies through your browser settings, but some features of the Service may not work without them.
Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to our website and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to our site and other sites on the internet. You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings , or opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalized advertising at aboutads.info .
Advertising
Caf Coach is free to use and is supported by advertising. The Caf Coach website may show ads from Google AdSense, and the iPhone app may show a banner ad from Google AdMob on signed-in screens. The Android app does not show ads. Every feature stays free; ads help pay for the Service.
On the website, Google and other advertising vendors use cookies, web beacons, and similar technologies to show and measure ads, including ads based on your visits to this and other websites. They may collect information such as your IP address, browser and device details, the pages you view, and how you interact with ads. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to our website and other websites. You can opt out of personalized advertising at Google Ads Settings or at aboutads.info . Where the law requires it, we ask for your consent before showing personalized ads.
To deliver and measure ads, Google receives information from your device, such as your IP address, device and app details, and how you interact with ads. When iOS asks whether to allow tracking and you allow it, Google may also receive your device's advertising identifier and use it to show ads based on your interests. If you decline, Google does not receive that identifier. You can change this at any time in iOS Settings under Privacy & Security, then Tracking. Google explains how it uses this information at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites .
The iPhone app also includes software from Meta that tells Meta when the app is installed and opened, so we can measure our own advertising for Caf Coach. The same tracking choice applies to it.
We do not give advertisers your name, email address, macro goals, dietary preferences, allergens, or food logs.
How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with:
- Service providers that help us operate the Service, such as Google and Apple (sign-in and notifications), cloud hosting and database providers, our AI provider Anthropic (which processes scan, plate and label photos, the food descriptions you type, and the goals, preferences, and menu items needed to build your meal plan), Open Food Facts (barcode lookups), and, if you ever purchase a paid feature, our third-party payment processor.
- Advertising partners: Google AdSense on the website, and Google AdMob and Meta in the iPhone app, as described under "Advertising" above.
- Legal and safety recipients when required by law or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users and the Service.
- Business transfers, in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
Data retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time (see "Your choices and rights").
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your choices and rights
You can access or update much of your information directly in the app. To request a copy of your data, correct it, or delete your account, email us at fletcher@momentumapps.net. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under applicable privacy laws.
Children's privacy
Caf Coach is intended for college students and other users aged 13 and older. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
